The Advanced Seminar on Greek Epigraphy<\/strong> <\/em>(SAEG), is about to meet for the tenth time (following the first two Seminars held at the University of Bologna and the subsequent meetings hosted by the universities of Naples, Milan, Turin, Venice, Rome \u201cSapienza\u201d, Perugia, and Roma Tre; for the nine previous seminars, click here<\/strong><\/a>), and has become a well-established event. For the academic community of epigraphists in particular, and for classicists more broadly, it is an important occasion for scholarly exchange and dialogue on issues pertaining to Greek epigraphy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within the field of epigraphic studies, the SAEG<\/em> constitutes a highly significant forum, characterized by the lively and constructive working atmosphere that has distinguished it since day one. The seminar was originally conceived by Teresa Alfieri, Claudia Antonetti, Laura Boffo, Lucia Criscuolo, Enrica Culasso, and Elena Miranda, who brought this initiative into being and have continued actively to nurture its development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2027, the University of Salerno<\/strong>, in collaboration with the Archaeological Parks of Paestum and Velia<\/strong>, will be responsible for organizing SAEG <\/em>X<\/strong>, scheduled to take place from 14 to 16 January<\/strong>. As customary, the primary aim is to devote ample space to the presentation of research by early-career scholars and researchers, with the hope that, alongside their contributions, those of more established and experienced scholars will also be represented, thus fostering the combination of expertise and perspectives that has consistently distinguished previous editions of SAEG<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All those wishing to propose a paper for SAEG<\/em> X, on any aspect of Greek epigraphy from its origins to Late Antiquity, are invited to submit their application<\/strong> by 15 June 2026<\/strong> to saeg@unisa.it<\/a>, indicating the title<\/strong> of the proposed paper and attaching an abstract<\/strong> of no more than 250 words, together with a very brief curriculum vitae<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Depending on the number of submissions received, the possibility of opening a poster session will be considered; should this occur, a further circular will be issued. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
